چکیده

Single-layer antireflection coatings on absorbing substrates for the parallel and perpendicular polarizations at oblique incidence," Appl. Explicit equations are derived that determine the refractive index of a single layer that suppresses the reflection of p-or s-polarized light from the planar interface between a transparent and an absorbing medium at any given angle of incidence. The required layer thickness and the system reflectance for the orthogonal unextinguished polarization also follow explicitly. This generalizes earlier work that was limited to normal incidence or to oblique incidence at dielectric-dielectric interfaces. Specific examples are given of p-and s-antireflection layers on Si and Al substrates at X = 6328 A at various angles of incidence.

Optical properties of nanostructured TiO2 thin films and their application as antireflection coatings on infrared detectors.

Oblique-angle deposited titanium dioxide (TiO(2)) nanorods have attracted much attention as good antireflection (AR) coating material due to their low n profile. Therefore, it is necessary to better understand the optical properties of these nanorods. TiO(2) nanorods grown on glass and Si substrates were characterized in the visible (0.4-0.8 μm) and infrared (2-12 μm) regions to extract their c...

Mapping of Fresnel's interface reflection coefficients between normal and oblique incidence: results for the parallel and perpendicular polarizations at several angles of incidence.

The functions, w = f(z), that describe the transformation of Fresnel's reflection coefficients of parallel and perpendicularly polarized light between normal and oblique incidence, as well as their inverses, z = g(w), are studied in detail as conformal mappings between the complex z and w planes for angles of incidence of 15, 30, 45, 60, and 75 degrees . New nomograms are obtained for the deter...

Loss/gain-induced ultrathin antireflection coatings

Tradional antireflection coatings composed of dielectric layers usually require the thickness to be larger than quarter wavelength. Here, we demonstrate that materials with permittivity or permeability dominated by imaginary parts, i.e. lossy or gain media, can realize non-resonant antireflection coatings in deep sub-wavelength scale. Interestingly, while the reflected waves are eliminated as i...

Development of Nanostructured Antireflection Coatings for EO/IR Sensor and Solar Cell Applications

Electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensors and photovoltaic power sources are being developed for a variety of defense and commercial applications. One of the critical technologies that will enhance both EO/IR sensor and photovoltaic module performance is the development of high quality nanostructure-based antireflection coatings. In this paper, we review our work on advanced antireflection struc...

The hybrid concept for realization of an ultra-thin plasmonic metamaterial antireflection coating and plasmonic rainbow.

We report on the design, simulation, fabrication, and characterization of a novel two layer anti-reflective coating (ARC) based on a plasmonic metamaterial and a dielectric. Promoted by the strong material dispersion of the plasmonic metamaterial, our novel concept (called hybrid ARC) combines two possible arrangements for layers in an anti-reflection coating into a single structure; albeit at ...
